Holaaa….

Dah nak sampai ke penghujung 2012…

and what a year it was for me!

ada cerita sakit mata lahhh

ada cerita kena kritik nazir yang meroyan lahhh

result UPSR yang menurun lahhh

karam kat sungai lahhh

kena black-out lahhh

haiiiii…macam-macam!

Tapi, sebab I ni optimis sangat,

I tak kesssssaaaahhhhh

dengan masalah!

Alhamdulillah, 

I’m surrounded by supportive people;

my family and friends! 

Through the medium of facebook and blogger,

my personal ideas became impersonal; 

as I share my thoughts and ideas with you.

my coffee style

very black coffee...my style

hehehehe.....

in a cup, pour half a cup of boiling water 

to two tablespoon of coffee powder. 

wait for...say, ten minutes; 

for the coffee powder to release its aroma. 

then, add more hot water. 

NO SUGAR! NO CREAMER! 

just drink the coffee on its own. 

and don't bother to filter the coffee, 

just drink it straight with no filtration...

fiber......

best taken with a piece of toast, 

or with some cream crackers. 

enjoy!

i nak bagi international flavour sikit 
blogpost i yang ni....
apalagi, tentang makan laaa!
hahahaha....

okay, what you're looking at the top 
is a picture of a special kind of cake/pudding
(hehehe...cake-slash-pudding)

this is Bingka Labu
or to put it in English Language;
Butternut Squash cake....
this one is quite traditional...
so, i can't say much about it.
but, according to my observation, 
the ingredients were :
grated butternut squash (hence the name!)
coconut milk
flour
sugar
- pardon me here, 
i don't actually know the amount of each ingredient
or which ingredient goes in first...
- but to put it easily, when the batter was already mixed, 
it was then baked in an oven.
something like that.........hehehehe

yummm....
it was really good!
particularly  as a midnight snack!

tak sudah-sudah...
hehehehe.....

ni dia...
wajik, fresh from the kuali (wok)
sticky glutinous rice cooked with 
coconut milk and palm sugar....
best eaten warm....
with a cup of mildly-warm tea.
good for breakfast or brunch...
or; as for me; anytime!

bersukan adalah baik untuk kesihatan....

walaupun tak lah se'serius' mana...

i tak bersukan sangat
sebab cepat penat...maklum laaaa
comel @ gendut @ gendot kata orang Sarawak.

kalau berbadminton tuuu..
jarang sangat laaaa nak menang...
partner main badminton pun akan jadi boring

tapi, i lagi suka kalau masa orang bersukan

berlebih-lebihan lagi di SK Nanga Kain 
yang aneh ini.

masakan Cina kerrr? 
yapp...ni kuih tradisional Cina....
teruskan membaca.....

紅龜粿
or Ang Ku Kue as it was known in Chinese
is a wonderful kueh...or dumpling.
nowadays, this kueh is a favourite not only among the Chinese,
but also to the Malays, Indians and many other different races in Malaysia....

in Bahasa Malaysia, 

this kueh literally means 

"kuih kura-kura merah" 

or "red tortoise dumpling" in English. 

this kueh is made using glutinous flour, 

and for the filling...

it can either be sweetened red bean paste 

or groundnut paste mixed with white sugar.

the red colour comes from red food colouring. 

i love eating this kueh....

because of it's sweetness and stickiness...

hehehe..or maybe because it is red...

dengan secawan kopi O kaw....

"roti tunok Aik Seng nang nyaman ehhh...."

memang cepat bukak mata yerrr....
ketara sangat kuat makan....
tak macam i yang molek nih...
makan setakat untuk hidup jerrr...
(yeeee leee tuuuuu.......)

okeyyy...
my next dish in this segment....
something Indonesian...
here is bakso. 

BAKSO
meaning - beef balls, but there are a few variants, 
there's chicken bakso, bakso ikan(fish), 
bakso udang(prawn) bakso telur(egg)
and there's this very special one;bakso tenis,
meaning - tennis ball bakso! 
yuppp...you can actually eat tennis ball!
JUST KIDDING! 
it is actually beef balls the size of a 
- you guessed it - tennis balls!

BAKSO is originally an Indonesian recipe,
but it has a hint of Chinese influence...
the word "bakso" is a twist of the Hokkien words
肉酥 - pronounced as 'bah-so', meaning shredded meat. 

well, bakso is usually served with noodles or vermicelli, or sometimes kuey teow
and always in a bowl of beef broth or soup. 
this bakso that i'm featuring is available at 
Popular Food Court in Sarikei....




best eaten during this rainy season!

jemput makan : NASI LEMAK

nasi lemak.....atau dalam bahasa orrreng puteehhhh -
rice fat! hahahahaha....

no laaa...there's no such thing as 'rice fat'.
if 'nasi lemak' is what it was in Bahasa Malaysia;
then, 'nasi lemak' it will be in English language.
hammmboiiiihhhh...berhabok spekking gitewww kan nyah?
motifff?

okeyyy...nasi lemak here actually means
fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk.
then, the word 'lemak' here also means 'creamy'.

nasi lemak is a traditional dish famous among the Malays.
but nowadays, nasi lemak has won the hearts of every Malaysians.
the condiments vary according to one's personal preference;
some like it with extra spicy anchovy sambal,
some might even want it with curry,
some like it with pickles,
some like it with pineapple chutney...
and...psstt...some even like it with tempoyak!
what's tempoyak? well, it's fermented durian curds.

anyway, it's anyone for their liking....
so, come to Malaysia, and enjoy a plate of 
very yummy nasi lemak.

well, i nak share info about this very wonderful treat...

these are KOMPIA.....a Chinese traditional bread. 
you might wonder..."bread...why so small meehhh...?"
well, bread doesn't necessarily have to be big, enuff said!

kompia is a very simple bread,
it can be eaten with different sauces or dip...
it can be eaten with rendang, curry, tuna spread, 
coconut milk custard (serikaya laaahhhh!)
chilli sauce, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, 
thousand island dressing also can...
sweetened condensed milk also can....
albeit..it can be eaten just as it is....

okehhhh...biasanya kalau i ketandusan cerita tu..
i akan cuba mulakan dengan cerita makan-makan

okay lah kak Munah oii....ni i nak cerita dah...
sebelum balik bercuti hari tu, 
i bermalam dahulu di Kapit....sesaja...
and bila dah bermalam di Kapit tu...
i biasanya akan melepak bersama family Kakak Ross. 

pada malam tu, 
i ajak lah kakak Ross and laki dia 
pergi melepak and makan malam bersama.
laki kakak Ross pun bawaklah makan 
ke satu tempat yang best sangat.
tapi, spoil pulak, i tak tau apa nama tempat tu....
diaorang cuma kata tempat tu lebih dikenali sebagai 
"tempat makan dekat Jabatan Laut"
yang peliknye...Kapit bukan nya tepi laut! aneh!

menu banyak yang jenis lazim jerrr....
nasi ayam goreng laaaa
nasi goreng ayam laaa...
nasi goreng belacan laaa
mi goreng laaa...
nasik ayam penyet dilanggar lori laaa....
typical sangat...

tapi ada satu yang menarik perhatian i....
macam resepi best jerrr...
tapi i yakin sangat tak ramai yang suka...
tapi for me, it was the best!
memang puas hati...sebab rasanya menarik sangat. 
it was NASI GORENG VIETNAM....
tengok jerrr laa gambar kat bawah ni....

sedap, sebab nasinya digoreng dengan kicap manis, 
sos lada hitam, sos tomato....
dan ada cebisan ikan bilis yang digoreng rangup!
tapi yang buat best adalah, 
nasiknya digoreng bersama bunga kantan!
itu lah yang best nyerrrr........

anyway, kalau ada peluang, 
memang i akan cuba lagi nasi goreng Vietnam nih...
best sangat!

adab sebelum makan

adab yang baik memang perlu diamalkan
sebelum makan terutamanya...
betui tak?

good manners are essential...
even before a meal....
rite?

kalau dulu-dulu, sebelum makan, 
duduk berkumpul baik-baik...
then baca doa sebelum makan
then lafaz bismillah....
kemudian baru makan......
makan boleh guna jari/sudu/garfu/pisau/chopsticks...

kalau zaman sekarang
semua nak kena ambik gambar makanan dulu....
betui tak? hahahaha.....

i tak mengutuk sesiapa....sebab
i pun buat perkara yang sama. 

first impression yang salah!

kelmarin menghadiri kursus/seminar di Kapit...
tak lah boring sangat, 
sebab 60% dari isi kandungan kursus 
was about the teaching profession, 
or more accurately, 
the profession of English Language teacher. 
ambikkkk engkau! hahahaha...

well, tak perlu sangat laaa 
i nak kongsikan apa yang dikursuskan tu kannn...
sebab boleh mengundang kebosanan 
dan penyakit menguap-nguap yang melampau!
nanti lari bertempiaran pulak semua pembaca blog 
i yang ceria laksana mentari pagi nih!
(motif riak! hahahah)

well, apa yang i nak kongsikan kat entry kali ni 
adalah tentang my innacurate perception of people. 

semasa berkursus tu, 
i got to know a few people...
tapi harus i nyatakan di sini, 
persepsi i terhadap seorang rakan cikgu 
yang turut sama berkursus dengan i masa tu 
was totally berubah. 
mulanya, i sangka that teacher was 
sombong, snobby, unsociable, 
perasan/berangan bagus K-Pop kunun-kunun....
rupa-rupanya very friendly.....
and some what chatty...
sehinggakan i pulak yang tak terlayan 
dengan ajakan berbualnya itu!

he was quite friendly
and was polite...
and his command of Bahasa Malaysia was excellent, 
walaupun he was formerly an exchange student 
(study kat Australia youuu....kelezzz engkau Senah!)

so, in the end we chatted...
ataupun berbisik-bisik sebenarnya....
sebab takkan nak berborak besar suara lah kannnn...
tak pasal-pasal kena HALLOOOO keluar lepas tu!

so, i nak pesan kat diri i sendiri....
to always have a good expectation towards people.
sentiasa berpandangan baik terhadap orang lain. 
gitewwwww......

sorry, takdak gambar untuk kawan baru i itu...
